Unified e-visas to Russia

 According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 5, 2024 No. 3583-p, citizens of 64 countries including Iceland may apply for unified electronic visas to Russia.

Such visas are issued to foreigners traveling to the Russian Federation for the following purposes:

tourism, guest or business visit, socio-political, scientific, cultural and sports ties.

 An application for an electronic visa must be submitted through the website 

E-visa (kdmid.ru)  no later than 4 days before the expected date of departure.

A single-entry e-visa is issued for 60 days, the period of stay in Russia is

16 days.

A digital photograph of an applicant and a high quality scan of the page with the data of the passport must be attached to the application. According to the current Russian legislation the fee should be paid for a visa (via the same website).

 Transport companies may check whether a foreign citizen has a valid electronic visa using the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (http://evisacheck.kdmid.ru). Information about the check procedure is available on the mentioned website in Russian and English.
